Deck Staining
Preparation:
We move any furniture, planters, grill, etc to a safe place away from work area
Thoroughly pressure wash and scrap any loose paint
Allow the deck to sit a minimum of one day, weather depending, in order to thoroughly dry out
* if you’re deck has a patio underneath, we will cover everything with drop cloths to protect during the staining process
Process:
Sanding: we use an electric sander to go over handrails and rough areas of deck boards
Board Replacement: should there be any rotted boards that need to be replaced, we will include that into the estimate
Staining Product: we source this from Trio Paint (local company) or Sherwin Williams; they carry Storm, Cabbott and Sikkens
Staining Process: we will do one coat of solid oil based stain with one topcoat of acrylic; this is a great system! We have had good feedback on this process
Application: done by hand using a brush to ensure that the stain is worked into the grain and any cracks
Additional Notes:
We recommend allowing a full 24 hours for the deck to dry before using after the application has been complete
